This past Friday night in DuPont I found a Coach clutch with an driver's license and metro card inside. I have spent all weekend searching Google and Facebook for the person, but haven't had much luck. From what I've found she went to school at American, has a Connecticut id and their initials are ECL. If you know this person get in contact with me.

Why not mail it back to the address on the ID or take it to the police?

Just a guess about not mailing the ID--maybe the OP was worried the address is out of date, especially with an out-of-state license. I know when I moved here, I didn't change my license for a while; I don't own a car, so getting a DC license didn't seem as urgent (and a number of friends who moved to non-car oriented cities like DC and New York kept their old licenses for a long time as well). As for leaving it with the police, maybe it's a concern about the clutch getting swallowed up in the bureaucracy. One time, I lost my wallet in the subway, and the station attendant called me directly about it (my business card was in there). I remember she said "You might want to come get this from me ASAP, because once my shift ends, I have to turn it over to Lost and Found...and once it goes there, trust me, you'll NEVER find it!"
