Has anyone installed a new high-effiiciency boiler?

We are renovationg our rowhouse in Petworth, and we are now looking for someone to remove our 50+ year old boiler and replace it with a new energy-star, high-efficiency unit. I've already contacted Argent Heating already, but I would like to find someone more local if possible.

Not sure if they are local enough for you, but the best company to install a boiler is Foley Mechanical. While they are a little more expensive than some, they are completely worth it. The system they installed for us included a new boiler, indirect fired water heater, and two zones of radiant flooring. Their technicians are very polite, show up on time, clean up after themselves and their work is stellar. I highly recommend them.

The previous owner used Jiffy plumbing & heating to install a new steam boiler. Their work was average at best. We stopped using them after a while. We subsequently used Magnolia to fix some of Jiffy's mistakes, and also to put back a radiator that someone had removed. Better than Jiffy, but they still took shortcuts and created some new problems. So I can't recommend them, either.
I think we're going to try Foley next. They have pics of some Burnham steam boiler installations (which is what we have), and their plumbing looks very tidy.8:54 PM 10/17/2012 | 0 Votes
