Anyone have recommendations for a place near Dupont/Logan that does a good job on alterations for women's clothing? I used to go to Kim's Cleaners on 17th between U and T, but I haven't seen the same couple in the store. I see on yelp people like Dupont Cleaners on R at 16th. Thank you for your help!  More»

We are having a problem with a parking enforcement officer in our neighborhood who is interpreting this sign differently than we are. The officer believes the sign means that we can ONLY park on Tuesday's between 7am and 8:30pm. I am in contact with the DDOT about the issue and wanted to reach out to the community. How do you interpret the sign? Ignore the street cleaning sign. I appreciate your feedback.  More»

My fiance and I are having a very small wedding ceremony this summer (6-8 people) and we would like to have a nice dinner somewhere after and then meet friends for drinks after. Does anyone have suggestions for a restaurant that is nice with a good atmosphere and you can hear one another talk?
How about a bar that could comfortably fit 15-20 people without a reservation?  More»

I was wondering how long it takes the city to get rid of the class 3 vacant status if I go ahead. Also, I've read on the DC website that if you're doing major renovations on an investment property you qualify for an exemption from the class 3 rate http://dc.gov/DC/DCRA/Inspecti...Code+Inspections/Vacant+Building+Enforcement/Get+Answers+On+Vacant+Buildings#13
Does this also apply to residential properties?

Found small, scruffy black and brown female dog found wandering on Lamont between 18th & 19th. Very friendly, but no identifying tags - only a flea collar.

Random question but I just saw a women running south, down the middle of 14th Street from the corner of 14th and Irving. I was too far away to see much beyond her, but I could hear her yelling: "he stole my phone, he stole my phone!" She was booking it and then I saw a security guard and someone else give chase, then a few minutes later heard police cars/sirens screeching in the background.
I am sure running down the middle of the street and also chasing a thief will be debated as to smart/not smart, but my question is - does anyone know how it ended?...  More»
